I love teacher-self care. In fact in episode 3 I talk about a bunch of ways you can fit it into your school day.  Today we are taking it to the next level. Self-growth is for the teacher and person with long term vision. Discover 5 ways to promote self-growth to fortify and move toward a thriving you.

If you’re like me I try to do too many things at once. Then I grow frustrated and give up.  Today I want to challenge you to pull back on the reins and slow yourself down. Consider each idea and choose the one that tugs at your heart. One…. only one.

Today in the Rockin’ This Teacher Thing Podcast we talk about self-growth.  There’s a lot of talk about teacher self-care and I’m all for taking care of yourself. In fact I did a podcast episode about teacher self-care back in February. However, I want to step out of that quick fix mindset and think longer term.

This is for the long haul. Knowing that as teachers we have to remember it’s a marathon not a sprint.  These self-growth journeys are going to build in us what it takes to run our own race and win.

Here are the 5 topics covered.

  1. Getting to know ourselves. Book Recommendation: The Road Back To You. Enneagrams. They are soooo soooo cool.
  2. Feeding our mind with what we want to become. Cutting way back on the news. Fill the need to acquire knowledge with one of the recommendations of podcasts.
  3. Spiritual Fortitude- We are more than flesh and our spirit needs nourishment and attention. When we are strong in spirit we are strong.
  4. Going Beyond the need to create and stepping into sharing our creations even in the face of failure.
  5. Celebration An act that will bring us into our fullest self.
